Women's Watches
Women's watches are (we think, anyway) simpler than men's watches. Our advice on women's watches falls into a few basic categories. These are as follows, with some examples of relevant brand names.
Many watchmakers, of course, make watches for women and, of course, the style of women's watches is genuinely going to be leaner and thinner. Some of the finer watches for women are made by Bertolucci, Breguet, and Wittnauer, to name just a few.
Jewelry watches are favored by women, and some brands you might want to take a look at would include Van Cleef and Arpels, Harry Winston and Klaus Kobec.
There are a number of fashion brands that are either exclusively for women or whose product lines heavily favor women's styles. These would include Michele, Anne Klein and Givenchy.
Some luxury and classic Swiss watch brands make elegant timepieces for women. We recommend that you look at watches by Baume et Mercier, Audemars Piguet or Hublot. Brands like Louis Erard are generally priced under $1,000, with many beautiful watches well suited to the discerning woman. Some of the less-extravagant luxury brands like Chase Durer have beautiful watches for women.
Women's watch styles are less segregated than they were in the past, and these days it is not remarkably uncommon for women to wear sports watches or the latest tech watch.
You may be surprised to know that some women are not all that impressed by luxury watches. The world of watches is dominated by men. This may be:
- Because men wear no other jewelry, and a luxury watch is a male status symbol.
- That women are more likely to wear an expensive bracelet or ring as jewelry.
