In 1946, a new era began in Europe with the end of World War II. A new era also began in European watch making with George Dubey's patent of the index mobile. This simple device linked the twin chronograph hands with a recoil spring, creating a split-second chronograph.

Today, Dubey & Schaldenbrand has been revived under the tutelage of Cinette Robert, the onetime collector who made a name for herself by re-casing vintage movements. Her desire to preserve the original Dubey & Schaldenbrand ingenuity has led it back into the limelight.
