A watch is the singular piece of jewelry that most guys will wear – other than a wedding ring (but that’s another thing altogether). It’s an area where you will find it easier to pull rank, because – let’s face it – a lot of guys don’t really care about what looks right. For example, it’s easy to exercise fashion authority over a guy who thinks his Suunto watch is just fine for wearing to a business meeting.

Still, there are some major concerns that you might want to keep in mind. They are:- Size. If the guy is a big guy, it may be a surprise to him that there are some very large watches out there. Some guys will like a big watch, but in general they will want to stay conservative. This will depend on the personality of your guy.
- Color. In our humble opinion, most guys will not be too impressed with the many bold-colored watches that are out there. In general, guys will still go for the muted colors, and the deep blues are always a favorite.
- Price. Don’t be afraid to go conservative. Buy a watch that is on sale, if you have the choice. Guys will appreciate your frugality. Again, this is in general. Be wary that the price might be a message, so spend the right amount for your guy and your relationship.
