Buying a Watch for a Man
Some strategies you might use for getting your guy the gift of time
Strategy #1: Shop the way you always shop (whether that's online or at the mall), and simply picture him as you are looking through watches.
Strategy #2: If you feel you don't know him or his tastes that well, then keep your search down to the first three watches that jump out at you. Then decide on the one that suits him best.
Strategy #3: Think like a guy. Most guys, when they shop, pick the first thing that they look at. That isn't because they're lazy. Its not necessarily because they don't like shopping. It just might be because that's the most practical way to get things done. A guy sees something that he likes and he doesn't really want to waste any more time thinking.
You might not like this strategy at all for yourself, but you just might find that it works perfectly when you are shopping for a man.
Trust yourself
You may find that you know him better than he knows about himself. Never forget that you might have more fashion sense than he does.
- If hes a big guy, he might be surprised at the size of some watches out there and he might come to like his Oversized Zeno Sapphire.
- If he is the kind of guy that likes something big and bold, you might surprise him with something that is really out of the ordinary. Or, he might not fully appreciate a luxury watch until he sees an Eberhard Chrono 4 Bellissimo on his wrist.
- Is he an intellectual? Try a watch with a brand name that has a history, maybe.
- He might not know about pocket watches, aviator watches or the latest gadget watch, until you buy him one.
You can take chances, but these have to be based on what you know he likes.
